Alsek Beginnings, Yukon, Canada. Sold. Acrylic on canvas, 22 in. x 32 in., $900. Started another painting in the evening. The sun and wind taking a toll. My skin was drying as fast as the paint.
Soon -- Fish Creek, Juneau, Alaska. Sold. Acrylic on canvas, 22 in. x 32 in., $900. The sun was moving quickly. A few varied thrush and a winter wren singing.
Sorcerer -- Blue Ridge Mtns., Virginia. Now NFS. Acrylic on Canvas, 32 in. x 22 in., $900. I started a vertical painting of a tree clinging to a rock, then painted the rock out. Turkey vultures rose on thermals and slipped over me at tree top height to the next valley.
Peterson Creek II -- Juneau, Alaska. Now NFS. Acrylic on canvas, 22 in. x 32 in., $900. Heard varied thrush, robins, chestnut-backed chickadees, juncos, winter wren, ruby-crowned kinglets, and watched a hairy woodpecker hammer out a lively rhythm.
Takahanne River -- Yukon, Canada.
Sold.
Acrylic on canvas, 22 in. x 32 in., $900.
Purchase via ArtiqueLtd.com. It was lovely painting by the
stream. A broken sky permitted the sun to wash over spectac·
ular fall colors in slow intense waves.
Winter is Long -- Fish Creek Valley, Juneau, Alaska. Sold. Acrylic on canvas, 22 in. x 32 in., $900. Cold, regular light snow flurries passed. Base resonance of grouse hooting contributes both to the heaviness of lingering winter and the sweet promise of spring.
Fall -- Yukon. Sold.
Acrylic on canvas, 22 in. x 32 in.,
$900. Purchase via ArtiqueLtd.com. I stopped briefly at
Klukshu where a few sockeye were still attempting to spawn. I
painted a meadow north of the fish camp. Red foliage has lost
the intensity of just a few days ago. All seasons but winter
seem to pass quickly.
Storm Likely -- St. Elias Lake, Yukon.
Sold.
Acrylic on canvas, 22 in. x 32 in., $900.
Purchase via ArtiqueLtd.com. Loons frequent calls caused
shivers as did the wind. I turned to see an adult at the shore of
the lake. The sharp contrast of its plumage made it appear large
and close.
